Boher Community Development Association (BCDA) is a registered charity (Registered Charity Number 20154943). This notice explains what personal data we collect through boher.ie, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect, and why

Contact form: when you use the Contact Us page, we collect your name, email address, message, and whether you'd like to volunteer. This is sent directly by email to the committee so we can reply - it is not stored anywhere on the site or in a database.

Newsletter sign-up: if you sign up for our weekly newsletter, we collect your email address and store it with our email provider, Brevo, so we can send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Website statistics: we use AWStats, a tool provided by our hosting provider, to understand overall visitor traffic to boher.ie - for example how many people visit, which pages are popular, and what browsers or devices they use. This works by analysing our web server's own access logs, not by using cookies or any tracking script, and we don't use it to identify individual visitors. These logs include visitors' IP addresses in their original, non-anonymised form. Our hosting provider retains this data indefinitely, and this cannot currently be configured to a shorter period.

Cookies

boher.ie does not use analytics or advertising cookies. A small technical cookie is set only on pages with a form (such as Contact Us or the newsletter sign-up), to protect the form from being submitted by other websites - this is strictly necessary and contains no personal information.

Some pages embed a map. If that map uses Bing or Google Maps, loading the page may allow Bing or Google to set their own cookies, under their own privacy policies - we have no control over this. Maps using OpenStreetMap do not set cookies.

Other third parties

We use Brevo to send emails (contact form notifications and the newsletter). We link to our Facebook and Instagram pages, but we don't embed their tracking on boher.ie itself - if you click through to them, their own privacy policies apply.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by getting in touch via the Contact Us page. For the newsletter specifically, you can unsubscribe at any time without contacting us.
